Google’s newest change to Google Maps on Android is the Dark Mode Feature. The company has already announced the feature available globally to everyone. Since, September of last year, the feature was being tested within the beta testers. And a lot of us have been waiting for this to happen.
More and more apps are enabling dark theme for their Apps. Dark themes tend to save battery life on devices with OLED displays. Since OLED screens depend on illuminating individual pixels, darker screens mean less illumination and hence low battery usage.
How to Enable Dark Mode in Google Maps?
- Open the Google Maps in your Android Device
- Go to Settings
- Click on Theme
- Find Always in Dark Theme option and enable it
If you do not have the Theme option in Settings, it just means that the feature has not yet reached you and will eventually land on your device soon enough. As of now, the company hasn’t spoken on the changes to Maps on iOS. But we can definitely expect iOS users to get the update soon.
